Our products are developed and manufactured at our company in Knoxville. We send the products flat-packed to the customer and then they actually assemble the booth themselves.
We are always looking for ways to improve the way the booths are assembled, but it’s hard to know which improvements make a noticeable difference. The CAM iV64 really helps us with the research and development (R&D) side of our business, saving valuable time and money.
The sound camera gives a quick analysis of the connections we are developing. We just simply point the sound camera at it and can immediately see which connection points are working better.
We get real time answers. The CAM iV64 was exactly what we expected. We just took it out of the box and pointed it. It’s pretty straightforward.
I had no idea this type of product even existed before we got in contact with Sorama. When I saw the CAM iV64 I was sold pretty quickly. I thought it was an awesome piece of equipment and I thought it could be of really good use for research and development on our side.
We chose the sound camera because of its functionality. It is so easy to use, and it can do so much. We have been using it for a while now, but I think we have only touched the surface of what it can do. That’s where we also see possibilities for the future.
The CAM iV64 is improving our R&D processes. We no longer waste time on researching whether improvements will work the way we want them to, because the sound camera shows us instantly.
In de toekomst kan de geluidscamera ons helpen bij het opzetten van processen om te voldoen aan wereldwijde standaarden. Dit zal zonder meer onze international activiteiten verbeteren.
We do basic decibel testing, by putting a speaker in the booth and then record the frequency and what level that is. But that doesn’t show you where the leak is, especially in an enclosure. You can have almost everything perfect on one side and then one little leak on the other side without realizing it. The sound camera helps highlight such issues. We are really using the two tools together. I think it’s a good combination of equipment.
Besides using it for our R&D processes, our marketing director is also using the sound camera to see if we can use it for future marketing campaigns. We want to make some videos of how sound can leak through doors and connections and how soundproof our booths are.
Some of the ideas I had that I thought would improve our products, I found it did not improve it as much as I had hoped. You have to know and test your theories, so this is a great tool to help do that. The CAM iV64 helps streamline our R&D process. We can now easily test new ideas to see if they will work before we put too much time into it.
The Sorama CAM iV64 Acoustic camera is perfect for in-field measurements. The handheld device is equipped with 64 MEMS microphones and an integrated HD video camera to provide a clear heatmap-like visualization of the detected sound.
