Avular and Sorama; robot and sound innovators to Strijp-T, building TQ in Eindhoven.
Avular and Sorama, two innovative scale-ups with Eindhoven roots, are moving to Strijp-T in January 2019. Both companies split the first floor of building TQ3 and expect to scale further on Strijp-T on short notice. Avular develops advanced systems for mobile robotics, like the computer brain and navigation equipment, yet also complete drones. Sorama reduces noise pollution and assists in improving the sound design of products by making sound insightful with sound cameras.
“Strijp-T is a historic location and an inspiring place to cooperate with innovative and ambitious companies and writing a new history”, says Rick Scholte, founder and CEO of Sorama. Sorama envisions further upscaling of the current Smart City Living Lab in between the existing acoustic lab on Strijp-S and the new headquarters on Strijp-T. It is also an appealing and inspiring place to continue strengthening the Sorama team. Scholte: “We’re opening vacancies on software development, testing, acoustic consultancy, UX and technical sales. A nice prospect in a beautiful location.”
According to Albert Maas, CEO of Avular, the move to the former Philips site is an important step: “Innovation, design, user-friendliness and team-work is what Avular stands for. This is what Strijp-T stands for; it breathes these aspects like no other place in the Netherlands. This will be the place where Avular can scale, work together with innovative partners and take the mobile robotics world to a new level. We are actually creating a hot spot for mobile robotics here and we are proud to be able to achieve this at this great location.”
Boudie Hoogedeure from GEVA Vastgoed: “With Sorama and Avular we get two beautiful growth accelerators on Strijp-T which, due to their presence, strengthen the further (inter)national reputation of this area in Eindhoven. We are therefore proud to welcome them at the beginning of next year.”
