Sorama L642 Acoustic Monitors

Unknown to many people, noise pollution is nearly as damaging as air pollution. The WHO states that in Europe 1.6 million healthy life years are lost each year because of it.

The first step in solving noise-related problems is to identify where the pollution is coming from, and which source is most severe. Current monitoring solutions are less equipped to find the cause of the problem, since they are only limited to indicate the level of noise. Because of these limitations, relevant information is lost.

Sorama now introduces the next generation acoustic monitoring for cities: the Sorama L642 platform. This solution delivers all capabilities of the traditional environmental sound level meters, and more.

This unique sensor platform is built to create insights into where, when and how noise is created. The on-board software and AI can even trigger anomalies and classify specific sounds. Live sound events can be projected over a map using the Sorama SoundSurfaceTM. The Sorama L642 is a future-proof scalable platform, allowing easy integration of new features and capabilities.

Sorama L642 series Acoustic Monitors

Sorama is proud to present the new Listener Platform and the Sorama L642 series of Acoustic Monitoring sensors. The Listener Platform software and the L642 series of sensors are a direct evolution of the well-known Listener64 Platform that has been used successfully, since 2014, in a large number of projects, related to Smart City, Environmental Noise Monitoring and Mobility.

With the new L642 Series, Sorama has taken Acoustic Monitoring to a new level, offering Class-1-Performing fixed Environmental Sound Measurement and more!.

By using microphone array technology, instead of a single microphone, the Sorama L642 adds relevant information to Sound Pressure Level measurements such as directionality, specific location and even classification of sounds. In this way monitoring of SPL levels in your City becomes much more insightful and provides for a future-proof solution.

Privacy by Design

Onboard processing in the Sorama L642 sensor makes sure that only relevant audio data and events are transmitted over the network without the need for additional Server Hardware. This makes it a very efficient and easily scalable solution that is also GDPR-proof and fitting of the label Privacy by Design.

User-friendly Listener Platform Dashboard

The renewed and redesigned Listener Platform Dashboard provides for a quick and user-friendly interface for setting up the system and configuring the L642. It provides insight into Sound Pressure Levels and shows you sound events based on customer-configurable setting.

Full control of software applications:

Users can subscribe to the needed software components instead of having to buy a large software package. This enables the end user to be in full control of the application but also adds to the flexibility to assign new applications and future use of the system. By simply subscribing to a certain block of application software / classifiers, the use of the system can be expanded or changed according to end-user needs.

Integration API platform

he Listener Platform API gives System Integrators the tools to integrate the full potential of the Listener Platform into 3rd-party and customer-specific applications, creating the possibility for the audio data to act as a trigger for other sensors such as Security camera’s.
