Sorama was selected in a limited group of 15 start-ups and scale-ups for the Garage+ program in Taipei. The winners were selected out of 60 companies from 19 different countries by the Epoch Foundation Taiwan. All participants, amongst which were Silicon Valley, MIT and three Dutch companies, were invited to come to Taipei for two weeks to run an intensive program including matchmaking, company visits and a booth at the Computex 2016. Amongst the company visits Sorama visited its Taipei-based partner Cooler Master, where we visited their HQ and VIP booth at Computex.
The invitation by the Epoch foundation in Taiwan followed the succesful trade mission earlier this year together with Rob van Gijzel and the City of Eindhoven, supported by Brainport Development. Naomie Verstraeten of Brainport Development recently posted a blog on the visit and its follow-up. There is also a video where Sorama, ViNotion and Atos, all partners in the CityPulse project, explain the experiences and benefits of such a trade mission. You may find that via on YouTube.
The Garage+ program website offers more information on the current and future programs, while the facebook page shows many pictures and videos from all the fellows, including Sorama. Sorama was also featured in many Taiwanese and Chinese media; some examples: Tech Bang, Chinese Engadget, China Times and Asmag.com.
